Our mission is to provide preventive measures that address diabetes and other health disparities within the minority communities through culture awareness information, physical fitness activities and better food choices to ultimately enhance and increase life-expectancy.

Four to a cabin – $378 each.
Three to a cabin – $409 each.
Two to a cabin – $471 each.
Did I mention that number includes all
taxes and fees?

Don’t worry there will probably be others

we will try to put you together so everyone can save.
What is the fine print?
Reservations must be made by November 30, 2011,
a $150 deposit must be paid by December 15, 2011, and
the balance is due by February 6, 2012.

DEEN Wellness Center and Diabetico International announce their partnership as an AADE nationally accredited facility program, on Tuesday, November 9th @6:30 pm at the DEEN Wellness Center 5290-4 Norwood Ave . The Beat Diabetes Class is the only comprehensive program that includes an exercise session, diabetes education and nutrition/cooking demonstration.
Diabetes and Exercise with Melinda Henry, Certified Personal Trainer
The” DEEN Beat Diabetes Class” is under the auspices of Executive Director Melinda Henry. Melinda is a certified personal trainer who has over 30 years as a fitness enthusiast and vegetarian. Prior to relocating to Jacksonville, she was a personal fitness instructor at the New Castle County PAL in Delaware, training male and female police officers, athletes and business executives. She served on the Mayor’s Fitness Council during their quest to make “Philly the Healthiest City in the Nation” while owner and operator of the family business Produce Palace.
Diabetes Education with Lavern Webster BSN, RN, CDE
Diabetico International is a family business headed by a husband and wife team Laverne Webster and Kent Dowe and includes Dr Cutler, Mark Harris and Louisa Webster. Both are registered nurses and together they have over 30 years experience in diabetes education teaching and training. Team members are certified by the AADE.
Diabetes Nutrition and Cooking Demonstration with DEEN Cuisine Partners
Including: Chef A.L. Harvey’ a world renowned, 5 Star chef is a 40 year veteran of fine cooking. He owns and operates Crystols’ Exquisite Catering and has been serving Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia since 1989. Chef Harvey’s studied at the Culinary Institutes of New York and Chicago. Chef Harvey’ has worked with the NFL Superbowl and personal Chef to Michael Jackson, Rosa Parks and many other esteemed persons. Executive Chef DeJuan Roy of 95 Cardova Restaurant in St Augustine has led his team to win several awards including: a Golden Spoon& Wine Spectacular Award of Excellence. He has also been featured on Food Network’s “The Best Of”. City Kidz Café 1303 Main Street is owned and operated by Pastor & Mrs. Clinton Bush and features Maryland style lump meat crab cakes and pretzel bread sandwiches. The restaurant is an enterprise dedicated to fostering financial literacy in inner city communities. Our latest partner Pteez Popcorn 5040 Blanding Blvd a new up and company family business will serve as our nutritious snack specialist. As experts in their perspective professions, they have joined forces to bring the most comprehensive diabetes education/training program to Jacksonville.
